TELEPHONE DATA CONVERSION PROJECT
-
Scope : Capturing facility data from work order folders
provided by the client. This included addition, deletion and editing of
graphic data on Plant Land Records (PLRs) provided by the client as per
the specifications.
Tasks involved :
-
Scanning of PLRs.
-
Printing of work order sheets.
-
Scrubbing - This process involved identifying the
type of work on the work order sheets using different color highlighters.
Eg: new cable to be added with yellow, cable counts to be changed with
purple etc. Proper locations were then highlighted on PLRs where the data
editing has to be done. This task reduces time taken and no. of errors
generated to a great extent during digitization process.
-
Digitization – The information on the work order to
be added/modified is executed on the graphic PLR file digitally. Specific
menus and tools were developed for ease of use. Care was taken to transfer
the data on the latest PLRs produced.
-
Quality Check – For each work order folder, corresponding
PLRs were printed to check that proper modifications were done as per the
specifications.
-
Delivery – Regular deliveries were made twice a week
of the work order sheets and the new graphic PLRs on a CD to the client.
