ELECTRICAL CONVERSION PROJECT

Scope : To convert facilities in the territory of
a US based electricity distribution company. This included digitization
of all facility features identified on the facility grid maps according
to the specifications provided in the documentation.
Tasks involved :

Rakeoff : Non-graphic data/database was captured from
the facility maps for some of the total features. Specific database forms
were developed taking care of the specifications provided by the client.
Proper care had to be taken to identify correct sourcing feature for every
feature.

Rakeoff QC : The rakeoff data was printed in the required
fashion and proper QC was done to check for missing data or error in the
data entered.

Digitization – All the facilities on the grid maps
had to be captured digitally. The features which were rakeoff previously
displayed the data automatically. For non-rakeoff features data was fed
during digitization to display text as per specifications. Existing landbase
files were used as reference files while digitizing.

Quality Check – Color plots were taken for each file
to check for missing entities and proper placement of features. Snapping
and edge matching were also checked using special routines developed.

Delivery – Regular deliveries of graphic & non-graphic
files were done to the client.
