Using the input like GPS receiver output, Google earth maps and other satellite imagery, field information details like area, crop status, type of soil, climate etc., maps were created for several vineyard fields of California, USA. VPN network connectivity enabled us to directly connect the SQL server database of the client. Maps created were used to generate several reports which included drawings, labels, legend, map symbology for areas etc. Queries were used to create dynamic maps. These maps were directly linked with the Map server and SQL server at all times. Manifold GIS software was very effectively used for this project.
