The project involved preparation of reports for slums within the Mumbai city limit. For every slum, a percentage covered by various reservations was efficiently done using GIS. This helped the client to identify good and suitable locations for future constructions/projects.

Procedure:

• Capturing all reservations like park, garden, municipal school, caves, no development zone, commercial zone, markets etc. from provided Development sheets (DP Sheet) using AutoCAD Map, ArcView GIS, and Google Earth.
• Digitize all slums within the city limit using Google Earth.
